Wizz Air launches direct route between Budapest and Brussels

On June 17, 2024, Wizz Air’s wings will spread once again to connect two major European capitals: Budapest, the architectural jewel of Hungary, and Brussels, the city at the heart of European affairs. This new air route, offering five weekly flights, is the latest addition to the expansive web of destinations that the Hungarian low cost weaves across Europe.

The low-cost airline, already well established with flights to Belgium from Budapest to Charleroi airport, shows with this expansion a desire to diversify its options for its customers, by adding the Belgian destination to its network. This initiative enriches its offer and could modify the competitive dynamic, in particular with Brussels Airlines which already operates on this route.

Flights to Brussels-Zaventem will depart from Budapest-Ferenc Liszt each week at 5:40 p.m., a time conveniently chosen to suit both business trips and weekend getaways, allowing passengers to maximize their time.

The return flight will depart from Belgium at 8:25 p.m., providing a convenient connection for an evening return to Hungary.

Wizz Air’s decision to use Airbus A320s and A321s for this route reflects its operational flexibility and commitment to providing a reliable and efficient service. These aircraft, known for their comfort and energy efficiency, are perfectly suited to the airline’s mission to provide affordable air travel without compromising on quality.
